The Advertiser online reports that suppression orders would lapse once a court case is concluded under changes proposed by the Liberal Party to improve transparency in government. Officially launching the party's policy today, Opposition Leader Isobel Redmond said the change aimed to "reduce the over-application" of suppression orders by ensuring they automatically lapse at the end of a case unless an application is successfully made to extend the order.
